Italian Neoclassical Mirror, Early 19th C.
An Italian neoclassical gilt and carved wood mirror, circa early 1800's. This early 19th century Neoclassical mirror from Italy features a richly carved gilt wood surround topped with a raised urn crest, spewing leaves, and rams head carved beneath, at top center of frame. The shoulders are draped with carved wreath accents, while floral and leaf motifs adorn the sides, along with a pair of wood bands which run vertically down atop the mirror's glass. Each bottom corner is emphasized, projecting outward in squared fashion, with flower and swag wreath decor, and bottom surround is adorn with a carved bow at it's center. Delicate bead trimming lines the inner surround. This gilt wood piece has a fabulous, aged patina throughout. This elegant Italian Neoclassical 19th century mirror would look quite lovely adorning a mantel, bedroom, or entry hall.Dimensions
