A pair of vintage Papua New Guinea carved wood canoe steering paddles on custom stands. This pair of carved wood paddles originate from along the Sepik river regions of Papua New Guinea. These river and oceanic pieces have spear-like tips at one end, with delicate hand-carved details, while at opposite end, which is set in perpendicular fashion, the carving becomes much more elaborately decorated with carvings and pierced cut-outs. Each paddle is displayed upright on a custom black iron stand, with the tallest of the set standing just under 7.5 ft in height. This pair of Papua New Guinea paddles would make fabulous oceanic-art pieces, perhaps within a living room or study.
