A Turkish agricultural threshing board from the early 20th century. This antique threshing board from Turkey is a particularly nice example, having three wooden boards (often you will see smaller ones, made up of two boards). The thick boards, when joined together, have an overall rectangular-shape, becoming slightly narrower and curving towards the top (similar to the shape of a sled). A series of hand-carved slats with rock slivers inset into each, cover the lower 2/3, or bottom, of one side. Farmers once used these as a way of separating grain from straw. This wonderfully primitive Turkish agricultural piece has been custom mounted on a black iron stand, making an impressive decorative piece standing approximately 5.5 feet in height and just over 3 feet wide.
