A Dogon Mali Dama "Ci Wara" ceremonial headdress from the early to mid 20th century. This Dogon tribal wooden ceremonial dance headdress originates from Mali, West Africa. The headdress is exquisitely pierce-carved in the shape of an antelope, meant to represent the mythic "Ci Wara"; a half-man, half antelope mythical hero in Dogon culture. This piece is intricately decorated with a carvings throughout it's surface. This African tribal headdress, from the early to mid 20th century, has been custom mounted on a black iron stand allowing it to be used as a beautiful decorative object for your home or office.
