An Italian beautifully carved and gilt wood mirror from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique mirror from Italy, carved in Rococo style, features a richly carved ornate acanthus leaf surround with a glorious eagle taking presence at top crest and a pair of parrots flanking each surround side. The wood and gesso have a gilt finish and there is a lovely patina and small areas of chippy bits on the frame. The carved details are spectacular, the scrolling leaves give fluid and movement to this piece. This late 18th century Italian mirror would make a fabulous focal point hanging above a fireplace, or perhaps greeting you within an entry foyer.
