A Spanish Colonial cooking pot from the early 20th century, Central America. This antique cooking vessel has been made of clay, is round-shaped and flanked with two shallow handles with scalloped texture. The warm brown clay has a wonderful old black patina from cooking over a fire; a lovely show of history of prior use/age. This large-sized clay pot, which is approximately 26 inches in diameter, is originally from Sacoj, Guatemala and was once used to cook beans.
