A Spanish Colonial cooking pot from the early 20th century, Central America. This antique cooking vessel has been made of clay, is round-shaped and flanked by a pair of handles at each far side. This pot is perfectly-imperfect, with hand sculpted texture and movement about the pot. The warm brown clay has a wonderful old black patina from cooking over a fire; a lovely show of history of prior use/age. This large-sized clay Spanish Colonial pot is originally from Sacoj, Guatemala, and was once used to cook beans.
