An Italian elaborately carved and gilt wood mirror from the mid 20th century. This vintage mirror from Italy features a richly carved gilt wood surround topped with a raised crest, spewing leaves pierce through a floral crown, and ribbon motif, atop a rectangular-shaped frame with petite flower heads adorning each of the four corners. The bottom carvings continue the delicate splay of leaves and florals with finial dropping downwardly from center. Delicate ribbon trimming lines the inner surround. This bronze/gold gilt finish and mirror are original to this piece. This Italian mirror, with its elegantly-carved raised crest, is a nicely sized piece standing just shy of 5 feet in height.
