French Antique Carved Giltwood Mirror

A French carved and gilt wood mirror with arched top, from the late 19th century. This antique wall mirror from France has an attractively molded-wood surround with petite bead trim lining the inner edge of mirror, and lamb's tongue trim just before the smooth, outer edges. The mirror has an overall rectangular-shape with a convex arch at top crest rail. The original gilt finish has some hints of red showing through in various areas and has been slightly worn with time and use, giving it a lovely aged patina. The glass center is likely the original mirror. This 19th century French giltwood mirror stands approximately 4.25 feet in height.
