A French mirror, with painted wood surround and original two-piece glass, from the 19th century. This antique wall mirror from France features a very clean and linear profile molded wood frame, with inner frame in an old gold finish and outer surround in a light blue accent color. The wood has worn areas and a lovely aged patina, with areas of wood showing through. This piece retains its original glass, which is in two pieces (as shown in our secondary images). Interestingly, it was common for glass to be cut into smaller pieces and framed together for the illusion of one, due to a high taxation of glass during this time. This 19th century French rectangular-shaped wall mirror stands approximately 4.25 feet in height.
