French Pair Églomisé Sunburst Pier Mirrors

A French pair of églomisé sunburst mirrors from the early 20th century. These antique mirrors from France each have cleanly designed rectangular frames, with two mirrored glass inserts. The upper mirror is an aged glass with attention drawn to the verre églomisé gold sunburst at the mirror's center. Verre églomisé, a French term dating back to pre-Roman eras, is the technique by which a design and gilding is applied to the rear side of the glass, with artistic detail being visible from the front. The lower mirror is clear. Note that the frame is antique, but mirrored sections are not original. The frame coloring is cream with bronze/gold accents. This early 20th century pair of French pier mirrors are unpretentious yet elegant, with their sunburst accents, they will make a lovely statement together, perhaps flanking a window, entryway, or large piece of furniture.
