French 19th C. Louis XVI Style Wing Chair

A French Louis XVI style winged back bergère chair, with it's original paint, from the 19th century. This antique chair from France features a elegant and shapely winged back, with finely carved wood trim about the crest and arms with a foliate motif. The beautiful channeling and carvings continue throughout the wood frame, curled knuckles, knees, and scalloped skirt. The chair is presented upon carved cabriole style legs. The chair is currently upholstered in a damask fabric, which could be reupholstered to suit your design aesthetic. The wood retains remnants of it's original painted finish, along with a lovely patina which shows it's age.
