French 19th c Bergère Louis XVI Style Chair

A French Louis XVI style carved wood and upholstered armchair from the 19th century. This antique chair from France features a meticulously hand-carved wood frame (including scrolls, acanthus leaves, various foliage, and bead trim motif), with an arched top crest rail, gracefully sloping wood arms with padded manchettes for comfort and volute-carved knuckles, and a front seat rail that continues with intricate ribbon and trim carvings about the front and both sides. The chair is presented upon four rounded, decorated in flute and wrapped acanthus leaf carvings, which taper gently towards their feet. The finish has some hints of beige/green and dark brown accents, and a lovely old patina throughout. The chair is upholstered in a newer white textured fabric which is in good/usable condition. This 19th century French Louis XVI style bergere, with its elaborately hand-carved framework, will make an eye-catching and attractive addition to a study, bedroom, or living area.
