An Interesting Pair Carved FireSide Chairs

A very interesting pair of hand-carved wood fireside chairs. These vintage chairs have African style carvings, and though we are unsure of their exact origin, we suspect they are N. African. The chair back rests are pierce-carved, each with a center diamond surrounded by four triangles. Seats are flat and squared, with each chair being raised upon a pair of board/rail legs with diamond cut-outs and braced with a cross stretcher which has saw-tooth carvings across its top at underside of seat. The warm wood has a nice patina and there are some areas (most prominently the back rests) with faded geometric drawings and line etching. This unique pair of geometrically carved African style side chairs would make great fireside seats in a den/study, or perhaps used as hall or accent chair in other living areas of your home.
