A Spanish pair of Spanish Colonial style, carved and painted wood ladder back chairs with rushed seats. This vintage pair of chairs from Spain, designed in 18th century Spanish Colonial style, have ornately-carved head rests atop a high open and decoratively-carved ladder back style back rest, flanked within beautifully turned sides, with finial tops, which extend downward making up the rear legs. The four turned legs are braced at front with a carved stretcher bar (which mimics the ladder back slats) over a pair of slender turned stretchers, another pair of slender turned stretchers at side, and a single turned stretcher at rear. The seats are both rush, with one chair having newer rushing. The polychrome finish is quite beautiful, primarily a blue/green color with warm earthy accents. These Spanish Colonial style ladder back chairs are sure to make a handsome seating addition to your home.
