French Carved-Wood Six-Light Chandelier

A French carved and painted wood six-light chandelier from the mid 20th century. This vintage chandelier from France features a wooden central column carved with fluted and beaded accents, and a leaf motif which wraps the six wooden arms that emerge outward and out, creating a circular-shaped light fixture. Each arm terminates into a square-shaped platform base at top that supports the rounded metal bobèches with painted candle sleeves within their center. This piece retains much of its original painted finish with traces of silver, burgundy, taupe and cream coloring throughout. The light fixture has old wiring, so should be evaluated by a professional to modernize for today's standards. This mid-century French carved-wood chandelier is approximately 20" in diameter, making it a nice sized option for an entry foyer, breakfast table, or perhaps hanging in a bedroom.
