Pair John Widdicomb French-Style Chests
A pair of French-style serpentine chests from American furniture maker John Widdicomb, circa 1960's. This pair of commodes have been designed with French influences, and each feature slightly overhanging tops, with rounded corners, and whose shape mimic the beautiful lines of the serpentine cabinet beneath. The curvaceous cases house three graduated and dove-tailed drawers, with top drawers having sectioned dividers. The drawers are fitted with a pair of decorative rococo-style metal pulls and an escutcheon at their center. These pieces have sweetly scalloped skirts and are presented upon petite cabriole carved legs. This pair of nice quality John Widdicomb chests have a custom scraped finish with tops and trim in an elegant periwinkle/gray accent color.
