A positively gorgeous, large-sized, Italian hand-carved wood cabinet, with upper glass display, from the 18th century. This antique cabinet from Italy features an elaborately carved foliage and floral motif design-with particular emphasis beneath its molded, and egg-n-dart carved cornice, and drawer & door fronts. The shapely body features a more shallow upper case (which houses a pair of large glass-front doors), with chamfered sides and carved wing extensions flanking either side. The lower, and larger section, continues with canted sides giving way to a straight front which houses four drawers set horizontally above four doors, and is raised nicely on a stacked flat base, also with egg-n-dart carved trim. The glass front doors, with their wavy glass and medallion carved accents at center, are either original or quite old. This piece has a soft, gray color palette with areas of wood showing through. Note that the side carved "wings" are removable should you choose not to use them. This 18th century Italian cabinet, with it's rich carvings and visually pleasing design, is a fabulous statement piece for displaying wares and collectibles, with great hidden storage beneath.
