A Italian smaller-sized carved walnut commode, with single drawer and door, from the turn of the 17th to 18th century. This antique cabinet from Italy has has a rectangular-shaped top, with graduated step down edges, which rests atop a nicely carved case adorn in raised panels, decorative medallions down each front side post, and beautiful paw-carved feet at front which give a subtle lift to this piece and point out in canted fashion. There is single drawer over a diamond-carved panel door, which opens to reveal a shelf for storage within. The walnut has an old patina throughout; a lovely reflection of it's centuries old history. This turn of the 17th and 18th century Italian commode would make a perfect side-chest or small cabinet for a living room or study.
