Antique Spanish Colonial 4-Drawer Console
This Item Is On HoldA Spanish Colonial carved wood credenza with drawers and primitive-style carvings, from the early 20th century. This antique console table from Mexico has a carved-front facade which features a whimsical display of swirling medallions, flower heads, and various animals, framed within beautifully notched trim patterns that add a nice texture to this piece. There is a slender, rectangular-shaped top which overhangs a case below that houses four drawers set horizontally, each fitted with a wooden knob pull. A hanging apron adorns the front of this piece, with a repeating arch-scalloped skirt. The front carved legs, with their inwardly facing appearance, add to the whimsy of this piece. Rear legs are squared at the top, becoming turned halfway down and continuing to their feet. Note that there is some warping to the top; please see additional images for further detail on condition. This early 20th century Spanish Colonial console chest is just over 4.5 feet in length, with a shallow depth of 15.25 inches.
