Swedish Neoclassical Chest, Early 19th C.
A Swedish period Karl Johan inlaid wood chest with original stone top from the early 19th century. This antique chest from Sweden features a stone top (Kalmar region) which rests atop a case which houses three dove-tailed graduated drawers, flanked within canted side posts, and is raised on spade style legs with metal feet. The drawers are fitted with neoclassical bow and wreath ring pulls and escutcheons. Neoclassic inlay designs, in urn and garland images, adorn the drawer fronts, side posts, and either cabinet side. Please note that there is some fading rings to the top of the stone, as well as some minor chipping at some edges; refer to images for further detail. This lovely early 19th century Swedish Neoclassical chest would work perfectly in a bedroom, office or living room with your choice of decoration atop.Dimensions
