French Beautifully-Carved Antique Armoire
A French tall two-door cabinet with intricate carvings from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique wooden armoire from France has been beautifully and ornately adorn throughout with hand-carved neoclassical embellishments in a foliage and scored-diamond pattern motif. This piece is topped with a garland-carved cornice which overhangs the case below, which is houses a pair of raised-panel doors carved with scrolling-foliage, urns overflowing with fruits, and c-scrolls at corners. The doors have nice brass hardware, and open to reveal a shelf and loads of storage potential within. The swagged apron has a carved urn with flowers prominently carved at center. The cabinet is raised upon carved cabriole style legs, giving a nice lift off of the ground for an airy and light feeling at underside. There is a custom gray/blue finish with hints of green, and charcoal accent trim. This late 18th century French armoire is a lovely statement piece, with its elaborate neoclassic carved body, while offering endless storage potential for those items which you'd rather have hidden behind closed doors.
