A French neoclassical style commode with marble top from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features its original rectangular-shaped marble top, with pronounced rounded corners, which rests atop a neoclassical style case with rounded and fluted side posts (wrapped with brass accents at top) which flank four graduated drawers. Each of the dove-tailed drawers are adorn with brass trim, rectangular bail-pull handles flanking the wreath escutcheon at their centers. This commode is presented upon conical legs with brass feet. Please note that the back right leg is a bit tilted, but is in stable/usable condition. This piece has a custom blue/grey color, which still allows much of the natural wood grain to show through in various areas, and is accented with the brass hardware and trimmings. This 19th century French marble top commode will handsomely decorate any wall space within your home, offering storage within and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.
