An Italian hand-painted cabinet from the 18th century. This antique cabinets from Italy has a rectangular-shaped top which slightly overhangs the case below which is fitted with a single top drawer over pair of doors. The exquisite hand-painted decorative finish (with a faux-marble top and mythological figures, flowers, and foliage motif) is either original or quite old. This piece is raised nicely upon carved bracket feet, giving the cabinet an attractive skirting along the center at front and sides. There is a lovely old patina, which only adds more charm and character to this piece. The backside remains unpainted, so best use would be against a wall. There are some areas of splitting wood at the sides- please see additional images for further detail on the condition. This 18th century Italian cabinet is a functional art piece, with useful storage and display, great for a kitchen, foyer, living or bedroom.
