A French Neoclassic carved-wood commode from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a top with rounded/cove-edges at four corners, atop a neoclassical case with rounded and flute-carved side posts, three full sized drawers, and raised on conical legs which taper to their peg feet. The recessed panel and dovetailed drawers, are each fitted with Neoclassical hardware with wreath & bow motif, including the pair of handles flanking the escutcheon at center. This piece is has rich and beautiful wood grain throughout, creating a pleasing visual interest.
