Spanish Thickly Carved-Panel Chest, 18th C

A Spanish four-drawer carved-wood chest from the 18th century. This antique chest from Spain features a wood case heavily carved in geometrically designs with egg-n-dart trim bordering the edges of the top lip, geometric & diamond-shaped raised panels on drawer fronts, and flute-carved front side posts. The half-sized drawers are deep set and retain their original hanging iron pulls. Forged-iron pulls are fitted at either end of the cabinet. This chest is raised on four bulb carved feet. The wood is rich and warm, with a fabulous patina that you only get from centuries of age and use. This 18th century Spanish nicely-carved chest is an attractive and versatile case piece that would work in just about any room of your home!
