A Swedish Rococo painted wood display and storage cabinet from the 18th century. This antique cabinet from Sweden, which stands just over 7 feet in height, features a gracefully arched pediment bonnet comprised of layers of trim molding, crowning the upper two door cabinet display cabinet, which rests atop a lower case fitted with a pair of half drawers over two full-sized drawers beneath (for a total of four drawers). The upper doors have iron lattice fronts (the iron is old, but not original) and open to reveal shelving within. The dove-tailed drawers are all fitted with elaborate Rococo iron hardware. The lower cabinet is beautifully carved about the front skirt, with more demure carvings at the sides, and is presented upon four robustly carved cabriole legs. The painted finish is old, but not original. Color palette is primarily a burnished sunset with black. The cabinet breaks down into two pieces, which makes for easier transport and installation.
