Pair Mid-20th C. Carved Two-Drawer Chests

A mid-20th century pair of carved and painted wood chests from US furniture maker Hekman. These vintage chests have been designed with Gustavian influences; each featuring rectangular-shaped tops with convexly carved front corners, atop a case which houses two full-sized drawers, flanked within canted and flute-carved side posts. The drawers are each outlined in clean, simple trim molding and fitted with ring-pull hardware. The chests are presented upon four squared and tapering legs, with front legs continuing the canted design of the side posts above. There is a custom wash of cream over the bodies (which allow much of the wood grain to show through) and a charcoal trim accentuates the various trim details. These Gustavian-inspired, raised chest of drawers will make a fabulous pair of decorative storage and display pieces, perfect for your bedroom or other living area.
