A French-style raised carved-wood chest of drawers. This vintage commode from American furniture maker "Baker Furniture" has been designed with French Neoclassical influences and features a rectangular-shaped top with rounded and projected corners, atop a case which houses two full sized drawers, a nicely decorated drop-down front skirt, and nicely raised upon four tapering, conical legs that terminate into petite metal peg style feet. The dove-tailed drawers are adorn with a three-plaque carved design on their fronts, fitted with decorative metal hardware (a pair of ring pulls with escutcheon at their center), and flanked within rounded and flute-carved front side posts. Each side has a recessed panel and back side posts are also rounded and fluted. The bleached wood finish has a complimentary light blue with cream colored trim accent. This French style raised commode will be a great storage addition to a bedroom or powder room, and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.
