Neoclassical Commode w/Fabulous Marble Top
This Item Is Is SoldA French Parisian Neoclassic painted wood commode, with its original marble top, from the early 19th century. This antique chest bares a makers label at interior drawer for furniture maker Georges Guerin of Paris. The marble top is exceptionally beautiful, with unusual patterning, in a light gray and slate coloration. The top rests upon a case which houses three small-sized drawers set horizontally along the top, over a pair of full-sized drawers beneath, giving this piece a total of five drawers. The forward facade has a subtle break-front design, and canted side posts; the design features carry through from the marble top to the wood cabinet below. Four squared and tapered legs terminate into petite squared brass feet. The drawer fronts are fitted with brass Neoclassical hardware. The wood finish is primarily a light blue/gray color with areas of white and hints of gray. This early 19th century Parisian Neoclassical commode, with it stunning marble top, is a versatile case piece offering endless possibilities for placement and use within your home!
