A French Neoclassical commode with its original marble top from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped marble top, with pronounced rounded front corners, which rests atop a neoclassical case with rounded and fluted side posts that flank three full-sized graduated drawers. Each of the dove-tailed drawers are adorn with brass trim, and pair of brass rectangular bail-pull handles flanking the shield-shaped escutcheon at their centers. The top drawer has dividers within for organization. This commode is presented upon conical legs with metal feet. This piece has a custom medium grey/blue color, which still allows much of the natural wood grain to show through in various areas, and is accented with the brass hardware and trimmings. This 19th century French chest-of-drawers will make a wonderful Neoclassic case-piece for your home, offering storage within and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.
