French Painted Commode w/Brass Trim, 19th C

A French Neoclassical style painted wood commode from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped top which slightly overhangs the case below which houses three graduated drawers, a linear skirt, and presented upon four squared legs which gently taper towards their brass feet. The full-sized and dove-tailed drawers are each adorn with recessed panel front facades outlined in brass trimming, and fitted with a pair of brass ring pulls with key escutcheon at their center. The wood has a custom finish in gray/blue which still allows the wood to show through in areas, and gold on some of the trim. This 19th century French neoclassic style commode, designed in clean/minimalist lines, will make a beautiful addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a foyer or living area with decorative items atop and storage within.
