Swedish c. 1820 Clock Cabinet w/Orig. Paint

Swedish c. 1820 Clock Cabinet w/Orig. Paint | Item# 1388

43.5"width 18.25"depth 83"height

A Swedish Karl Johan period tall wooden clock cabinet from the early 19th century. This antique cabinet from Sweden, standing just shy of 7 feet in height, features an elegant swans-neck pediment style top, with clock set prominently within its center, atop a case that houses two pairs of reed front doors, divided by a mid-section that houses two small drawers set in horizontal fashion with a small workspace shelf in front of them (as the upper portion of the cabinet is set back from the lower), and rests upon a flat base. The doors all open to reveal shelving for plentiful storage within. This clock retains its original metal face, hands and movement. Though currently not in working condition, the clock can be quartzed for an additional cost (please inquire for pricing). Should you choose, a quartz battery would be added behind the face, and since the original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then be made to keep proper time and chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). This piece has a wonderful old patina and retains its original yam colored paint. This Swedish Karl Johan clock cabinet, circa 1820, would make a perfect case piece for a pantry, a dining room, study, or just about anywhere!

Price: $10,500.
