A Handsome French Painted Commode, 19th C.

A French painted wood chest of four drawers from the 19th century. This antique commode from France has a rectangular-shaped top with canted front corners which mimic the angled shape of the case beneath. This case-piece houses four recessed-panel and graduated drawers, each fitted with a pair of round bail pulls and escutcheon at center. The chest is raised upon a thick platform style base. The custom finish is primarily a grey/taupe wash with black complimenting the top and accents. This 19th century French commode is a beautifully masculine piece, perfect for a bedroom, office, or living room.
