A French pair of painted wood side chests, with marble tops and brass accents, from the mid 20th century. These mid-century commodes from France each feature a rectangular-shaped with fixed/recessed white marble, surrounded with a raised lip on three sides, atop a case which houses a slender pair of stacked dove-tailed drawers. The drawer-fronts are outlined in brass trim and fitted with a single knob pull at their center, and flanked within flute-carved side posts. Both sides have brass trim which continues the theme from the drawer fronts. The tables are raised nicely upon squared tapering legs, that terminate into brass feet. A lower self with elegant concaved front braces the legs at underside of the table. The wood has been bleached and there is a custom white wash of color. These mid 20th century French commodes, with marble tops and lower shelf, will be delightful pair of end tables for a seating arrangement.
