A French Neoclassical tall bleached-oak display and storage cabinet from the mid 19th century. This handsome cabinet from France, often referred to as a buffet à deux-corps (which is the name for a French buffet consisting of an upper and lower case, "deux" referencing the two parts), features and upper case which houses a pair of doors with a glass inset panels, which rests atop a slightly deeper and wider case which houses a pair of recessed panel doors at center (directly below the pair or upper doors). A small drawer is set at each top corner of the bottom case. The nicely-molded cornice has a reverse-breakfront design. Rounded column-style side posts, with brass band accents, flank the sides of both the upper and lower cases. The custom bleached finish is complimented with a faint cream/beige accent color. This case piece breaks down into two pieces, allowing for easier transport and installation. This mid-19th century buffet à deux-corps, standing just above 7.5 feet in height, offers great storage and display options, which would work quite well in just about any room of your home!
