A French Neoclassical style painted wood commode from the mid 20th century. This mid-century chest from France features a rectangular-shaped top, which rests above a neoclassical style case that houses three full-sized drawers flanked within flute-carved front side posts, and nicely raised upon four spaded legs that terminate into brass feet. The three dove-tailed drawers are each adorn in recessed panels and are fitted with Neoclassic style hardware of wreathed bail-pull handles flanking the decorative escutcheon in tied-bow motif at their centers. There is a custom cornflower blue finish about the body (with areas of off white and taupe), which contrasts nicely against the top which has a custom white and gray finish. This Neoclassic style French commode, with its beautiful blue and white coloring, is a cute-sized case piece being approximately 3.25 feet in width; a great option when a smaller footprint is desired within a space!
