An Italian chest of four drawers from the early 19th century. This antique chest from Italy has been designed in nice clean lines, allowing the beautifully veneered wood grain and inlay banding to speak for the simple elegance of this piece. The chest houses a pair of half-sized drawers at top, with two full-sized drawers beneath, for a total of four drawers. Each drawer is fitted with a single Neoclassic-style escutcheon at it's center. This chest is presented nicely upon four gently tapering squared legs. Please note that there are some repairs at the backside, and that the top is not perfectly flat as there is some slight warping- refer to additional images for further detail. This early 19th century Italian raised chest, with its clean design and Neoclassic hardware, will make an attractive storage piece, great for a bedroom, foyer, or study.
