An Italian carved wood and painted chest from the early 19th century. This antique chest from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, over case which houses three full-sized drawers flanked within column style fluted front side posts, a clean/linear skirt, and front legs fluted with the continuing look of the column side posts. Each of the nicely dovetailed drawers are adorn in fluted and circular patterns, and are fitted with their original metal pulls and escutcheons set at center. The sand colored finish still allows much of the natural wood grain to show through from beneath. This early 19th century Italian chest, with its nice lines and original hardware, will make a great case piece for a bedroom, office or living room.
