A long French carved and painted wood buffet cabinet with original marble top from the 18th century. This antique sideboard from France, just over 8 feet in length, features a rectangular-shaped top with softly rounded front corners, above a case which houses four raised panel doors, and presented upon a molded platform base with rounded front corners to mimic the soft lines of the top. Each of the doors have decorative arch-shaped panels, open to reveal interior shelving and abundant storage within, and are flanked within rounded front side-posts adorn in the same arched panel design. This piece has a custom taupe/beige wash which still shows much of the natural wood grain, with a lighter cream/taupe accent color which highlights the various trimmings. The original marble top is reddish brown with a pale grey veining. This beautiful French 18th century marble top console cabinet, with it's great length and storage potential, would work well in a dining area as a buffet, or would be equally as nice used in a living room as a sideboard.
