A French Neoclassical chest, with faux marble top and brass hardware, from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped faux-marble top, which overhangs the neoclassical case which houses three full size graduated drawers, set within flute-carved front side posts. The drawers are nicely decorated and accentuated in black trim (each drawer with 3 rectangular outlines) and fitted with the Neoclassic brass round bail-pull handles with urn backplates and round escutcheons set at their centers. This commode is presented upon petite conical turned legs. The black and brass accents really pop against the wood grain, and compliment the dark charcoal color faux-marble top (which is fixed). This 19th century French Neoclassic style chest-of-drawers is a beautiful case-piece that could function well throughout your home; offering storage within and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.
