A Moroccan ornately painted-wood trunk from the early 20th century. This antique trunk from Morocco has has been artistically hand-painted in a geometric, foliate, and urn motif in vibrant shades of blue, orange, red, and gold. There is a skirt that hangs down lower than the actual interior case which allows a pierce-cut embellishment to the lower center of the front panel. The painted finish adorns this piece all about the top, front and either end of the case. The domed top has a unique flip open front (hinged along the top center), which when opened rests against the opposite top side allowing it to stay open when needing to access the interior. This piece is raised slightly off of the floor upon four rounded legs. The trunk's interior offers a large open storage space, with a smaller compartment along the top interior side. The back-side of this piece remains un-decorated, therefore best use would be against a wall. This early 20th century Moroccan chest, with its colorful presence and four foot length, will make a beautiful case piece within in an entry or family/living room, offering plentiful storage within.
