French 19th C. Commode w/Brass Hardware

A French painted wood commode, with brass hardware and accents, from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped top above a case which houses three full-sized drawers, framed within a pair of flute-carved front side posts. The recessed-panel drawers are each outlined in a brass trim accent, and fitted with a pair of brass rectangular bail pulls, flanking a shield-shaped escutcheon keyhole within their center. The skirt is straight and the case is presented upon four square-tapered legs. There is a newer custom wash of cream with very faint hints of blue/grey, which still allow the wood grain to be visible from beneath, and top edge has a gold trim with subtle hint of green mixed in. This 19th century French commode, with its minimalistic design, brass accents, and soft color palette, will make a lovely decorative storage and display addition to a bedroom or living area.
