French Pair 7+ Ft Tall Buffet à De Corps
A French pair of tall cabinets, with nicely carved columns and wire-front doors, from the mid 20th century. These antique hutches from France each, each standing just over 7 feet in height, often referred to as buffet à deux-corps (which is the name for a French buffet consisting of an upper and lower case, "deux" referencing the two parts) each have two upper doors with wire fronts, as to see the open shelving within, and resting atop a deeper case which houses two wood raised-panel lower doors. The linear molded cornices have a reverse breakfront design. And rounded column-style side posts (embellished with carved wrapping acanthus leaves about their tops and bottoms) flank both the upper and lower doors as front side posts. Each cabinet is fitted with a pull out shelf just beneath the lower case top. They are also fitted with various organizational sections within the lower cabinet as one opens to reveal pull out drawers, while the other has a vertical shelfing (this can be viewed in our additional images). Top shelf depth is 10.5 inches. These display cabinets break down into two pieces, allowing for easier transport and installation. Primary coloring is a warm honey/taupe with grey accents, all with much of the natural wood showing through from beneath. This gorgeous pair of mid-century buffet à deux-corps are quite versatile, offering great storage and display options, and would work quite well in just about any room of your home!
