18th C. Neoclassical 3-Drawer Chest, Italy

A period Neoclassical Italian three-drawer raised side chest, with veneered wood and decorative inlay banding, from the 18th century. This antique side chest from Italy has been designed in nice, clean/linear lines, allowing the beautifully veneered wood grain and inlay banding to speak for the simple elegance of this piece. The top, front and both sides of this chest are embellished with rectangular inlay banding in ebony, contrasting wood, and a ribbon twist motif. Inlay accents are also found down each of the front side posts. The chest houses three graduated drawers, each fitted with a pair of wreathed ring pulls and an attractive key-hole escutcheon at center. This chest is presented nicely upon four gently tapering squared legs. This 18th century Italian Neoclassical chest, with nice veneer and inlay accents, would make a useful decorative storage piece, great as a console chest in a foyer, living or bed room.
