Late I8th C. French Commode, Light Aqua

A French painted wood commode with three drawers from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique chest from France has been designed with simple and clean lines. A rectangular-shaped top sits above the case which houses three full-sized drawers, each fitted with metal ring pulls. There is a nice lift from the ground, by four inward-set bulb style feet. The chest has a newer light aqua painted finish, with scraped areas that reveal much of the original paint (wonderful layers) and a darker accent trim. This late 18th century French commode will make a beautiful and functional storage piece for a bedroom, foyer, or den.
