A Swedish Gustavian style chest of drawers from the early 20th century. This antique chest from Sweden, designed in typical Gustavian style, features a simple, clean design with canted front side posts adorn with fluted carving. The top is slightly overhung with front corners which mimic the angled shape beneath. The case houses three plain front drawers are each fitted with a pair of round bail pulls and small escutcheon at center. The chest is raised upon squared, tapered feet, with front feet being canted and straight pair in the back. The finish has been scraped, with much of the wood grain still showing through, complimented with a newer dark charcoal grey accent trim. This early 20th century Swedish Gustavian style chest would work perfectly in a bedroom, office or living room with your choice of decoration atop.
