A French Neoclassical-style carved wood chest of drawers with marble top. This vintage chest from France, designed in Neoclassical fashion, features a rectangular-shaped white marble top with pronounced and rounded front corners, that rests atop a case with rounded and flute-carved front side posts, flanking three full-sized, graduated drawers between. The recessed-panel drawers are each outlined in brass trim, and fitted with rectangular brass bail-pull handles and an oval escutcheon at their center. This commode is presented upon tapering and flute-carved conical legs that terminate into brass feet. This piece has a light wash of color, which still allows the wood grain to show through from beneath.
