Swedish Painted Serpentine Chest, 19th C.

A Swedish shapely serpentine chest of three drawers from the 19th century. This antique chest from Sweden features a curvy-shaped serpentine forward facing facade which continues from its slightly overhanging top, all the way to the front skirting. The case houses three full-sized drawers that are fitted with a pair of ring pulls flanking a escutcheon at center. The chest is presented on bracket style feet at front, with really neat cut feet at the side with a sweet little swag carved skirting between them. The wood has a painted finish with a primarily taupe and green color palette, with a warm taupe being more prominent along some of the trim and edging. This 19th Swedish serpentine chest-of-drawers will make a wonderful case piece, with it's soothing color and fluid shape, perfect for your bedroom or living area.
