An 18th C. Spanish Sacristy ChestThis Item Is Closed
An impressive 18th century Spanish wood carved sacristy chest. This over-sized sacristy chest comes from an old church in Spain and dates back to the 18th century, possibly 17th century. This is an exquisite piece with richly carved geometric shapes about the front drawers and door. This Spanish chest offers an incredible amount of storage within it's three larger drawers, and one smaller drawer above a single cabinet door. There are three recessed panels at each side with wonderful forged metal details wrapping each upper and lower corner. There are metal rivets along the top along with all of the original hardware. This piece is raised nicely upon stile feet, which were very common during the 17th century. Another exceptional detail are the circular indentations found along the top-side of this sacristy. These markings were created during the Communion's cutting of the host (sacramental bread).Dimensions
